First Friday

Celebrate First Friday at Blue Rain Gallery on Friday, September 5th with the soft opening of Dale Terbush’s solo exhibition Two Sides to Terbush. Immerse yourself in Terbush’s work and enjoy a cozy evening of art and community. The night features a poetry reading at 5:30 pm, opening with Ellen Metrick, whose work is rooted in the Animas River Valley where she grew up and guided river trips for over a decade; a San Miguel County Poet Laureate emeritus, she has published two poetry collections and continues to write, explore, and create stories inspired by the mountains and mesas around her home.

Following Ellen, Art Goodtimes will share his poems, bringing decades of experience as a poet, former San Miguel County commissioner, and Telluride Mushroom Festival steward; his writing spans from op-ed poetry to collections like As If the World Really Mattered and Dancing on Edge: The McRedeye Poems, reflecting a lifetime of engagement with the San Juan Mountains and the wider world. Join us for an evening where visual art and the spoken word meet.

The official opening reception and artist demonstration with Dale Terbush in attendance takes place Friday, September 19th during Fall Gallery walk.
