About Tony Abeyta and Ugly Pie Collaboration

Tony Abeyta, one of today’s most celebrated contemporary Native painters, has long explored Navajo cosmologies and sacred landscapes through his iconic abstractions. His son, Mozart Gabriel “Ugly Pie” Abeyta, takes a different path, infusing his Diné and Taos Pueblo roots with a rebellious, pop-driven aesthetic.

For the first time, their voices meet on canvas. These collaborative works weave together Tony’s spiritual geometry with Ugly Pie’s vibrant, electric edge. The dialogue between them is both deeply personal and universally resonant—a generational conversation about culture, identity, and creativity.
