Plesiosaur's Dream

Acrylic on canvas, 12"h x 16"w, Item No. 22558,

When I was an explorative young kid visiting my great grandmother’s house west of Tuba City, AZ. near a place called Moenave, I discovered fossils there.  There were dinosaur tracks all over, fossilized sand deposits that captured waves, trilobites and ammonites.  I had already been fascinated by dinosaurs at this point.  All these discoveries solidified the idea of prehistoric animals and dinosaurs.  This fused together with my indigenous perspectives created dreams of dinosaurs roaming parts of Dinétah (Navajoland).  I’ve had several vivid dreams of dinosaurs existing in these areas on the Navajo Nation.  So this painting depicts a plesiosaur’s dream syncing up with mine.
