The bridge of a horse’s nose is placed into focus. Hair is drawn in painstaking detail, wisping around the crevices and concaves of the riding horse’s face. The veins are protruding, and hug alongside the jaw and the nose. A leather bridle with stamped and etched silver adornments is being worn, buckling around the base of the jaw. Chains fall backwards towards the chest of the horse, giving a guiding tool to its rider. Drawn with respect and admiration, "The Spanish Curb" is a loving depiction of a rider's partner.
