Safe Handling of Preston Singletary’s Crystal Totems

At Blue Rain Gallery, we take the utmost care in handling each of Preston Singletary’s exquisite crystal totem sculptures. These breathtaking works of art demand both strength and precision. Both our and Preston's team follow a detailed process to ensure their safety during installation and deinstallation.

When installing a crystal totem, a team of three to four people carefully lifts the sculpture from its custom wood crate, taking precautions to avoid contact with jewelry that could scratch or chip the glass. Cardboard padding is used to protect both the edges of the totem and the surface it rests upon. The totem is gently tilted into place, its polished back edge resting safely before being raised upright.

Deinstallation follows the same mindful steps in reverse. Each motion — from the careful pivot to the final placement in its crate — reflects the respect and craftsmanship inherent in every Singletary piece.

Through every installation, our goal is simple: to honor the art by treating it with the same reverence with which it was created.
