Blue Rain Gallery joins Dennis Ziemienski in his studio as he prepares for his upcoming exhibition. Nestled in the hills of wine country, Dennis' artistic approach to life is evident all around his home property. Fruit trees, fountains, and mosaics made by his wife Anne adorn the property. Inspired by a mid-century aesthetic, Dennis blends history and art into one harmonious experience.

Renowned for his exceptional use of color and composition, Dennis Ziemienski's latest works reinforce his esteemed reputation. Drawing from his extensive career as an illustrator in San Francisco and New York, Ziemienski creates meticulous and magnificent portrayals of the Old and New West.

“My paintings don’t tell stories, they show stories. They’re pictorial narratives,” Ziemienski explains. “It’s up to the viewers and collectors to interpret the story behind each painting. I want people to dive in and discover what’s happening on their own.”

“My work is sometimes referred to as nostalgic; I think of it as historic,” the artist adds. “There’s depth, detail, and historical value in my compositions that go beyond nostalgia.”
