Sharks have been on the planet for 400 million years, pre-dating the dinosaurs, and a number of them are classified as Endangered due to overfishing, bycatch, and shark finning. 

Madison Stewart is a shark activist from Australia, dedicating her life to the preservation and protection of sharks.  She is generally referred to as "Shark Girl" and was named Australian Geographic Society Young Conservationist of the Year in 2017.
