Freedom Mandala

Oil and gold leaf on cradled wood panel, 36"h x 36"w, Item No. 22132,

Young Tibetan girl with dandelions, a plant that is a symbol of hope, healing, and resilience in many cultures around the world from Europe to Asia. A mandala is a geometric configuration of symbols. In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be used for focusing attention, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space and as an aid to meditation.

Robin Jones' "Freedom Mandala" depicts a young Tibetan girl immersed in a moment of peaceful contemplation.

Dressed in richly detailed, traditional red and gold attire, she holds a dandelion in each hand, holding one to her mouth and gently blowing its seeds into the air—a symbolic gesture of hope and freedom.

Behind her, encompassing the soft yellow backdrop is a dandelion 'mandala,' its expansive, diaphanous pappi forming an ethereal halo around the girl that evokes the interconnectedness of all life.

"Freedom Mandala" invites viewers to take a deep breath, let it go, and reflect on the beauty and harmony inherent in nature.
