"Living in Arkansas for eleven years, I became friends with many people that had lived in or grew up in the nearby state of Texas. If there is one thing that I learned from being so closely acquainted with Texans is that they love their Texas heritage and values. I began to love Texas myself just from getting to know and love the people from there. One day I was asked to sculpt a Texas Longhorn steer. I was delighted at the request because for me it became an opportunity to pay homage to a great state that has produced some of the most outstanding people on Planet Earth. To this day the Texas Longhorn breed remains one of the great symbols of Texas and represents the heritage of the entire old west." - Raymond Gibby
