Orange You Glad I Didn’t Say Banana

Oil on panel, Image: 36"h x 36"w, Frame: 37.25"h x 37.25"w, Item No. 23625,

This piece was created in response to the weight of the times we live in, when it can feel almost obligatory to worry: about conflict, uncertainty, the economy, and even how we think and speak. But I believe happiness is its own kind of honor. My mother would want me to be happy, and I feel the best way to honor my ancestors is to live with gratitude, recognize how blessed I am, and move through life with abundance while encouraging others to do the same.

A wise old friend once told me that orange is the happiest color, so I made this painting as a happy offering. I hope someone takes it home, smiles, maybe even laughs quietly to themselves, and remembers the innocence of a simple knock-knock joke.
