Layered Confections

Deladier Almeida's painting entitled "Layered Confections" immerses viewers in a Southwestern landscape filled with bright light. 

The sandstone cliffs exhibit multiple layers, in vibrant pigments of yellow, red, or ochre. Among the rugged terrain, kelly green trees reside on the tops of the peaks as well as in the foreground. The clouds are large and pillowy white, contrasting with the pastel baby blue sky. 

The rusty colored mountains in the background are lined with parallel blue trees that stretch to both sides of the canvas.Almeida's work promises to balance a landscapes natural beauty with extensive and luscious brushwork.
