“Desert Pathways”

A continuation of a split contrast of color, this entire series reflects the separation of traditional lands and families being separated by imposed borders. In desert pathways, we have the dark and complicated trails above the basket. These pathways represent those migrants whom are desperate and wander through the Sonoran Desert, hoping to make their way to civilization. As someone who has seen these trails first-hand, you can’t help but notice countless empty water bottles, clothing items and other personal items that are abandoned long those trails. Even more unsettling is knowing that not everyone survives the journey.
