Blown & sand-carved glass,
9"h x 20"w x 6"d, Item No. 14392,
This blown glass sculpture by Preston Singletary depicts three figures in a canoe. The Tlingit were skilled craftsmen and canoes were essential to their ability to access the bounty of the sea. The luminosity of this sculpture is best seen in the clear glass that contrasts beautifully with the killer whale design rendered in deep blue.
