Blue Rain’s Annual Celebration of Contemporary Native American Art
Santa Fe is home to the largest Native American Art Market in the World and Blue Rain Gallery has been leading the way in excellence and innovation for two decades…
SANTA FE, N.M [June 20, 2011] –Blue Rain Gallery, recognized for its roots as the premier Native American art gallery in the country, is pleased to announce events they will host in conjunction with the 90th Annual Santa Fe Indian Market in August, the largest event held annually in Santa Fe, NM. This is a time of year to view new and innovative art works created by the best award-winning Native American artists. Blue Rain Gallery has led the pack in innovation and excellence for nearly two decades.
The gallery’s legendary pottery sale and lottery, a time honored tradition at Blue Rain, will be held the morning of Friday, August 19th, providing an opportunity for collectors to purchase one of the highly sought after and limited pieces of pottery from Tammy Garcia and Richard Zane Smith. Nightly group shows are the spanning attraction of the week. These shows feature the works of artists like Al Qoyawayma, David Bradley, and Maria Samora, to name only a few. Anchored by masters of their respective mediums like Preston Singletary and Tony Abeyta, Blue Rain Gallery truly delivers the best in contemporary Native American Art across a wide range of styles—maintaining its legacy as a “destination gallery”.
Adding new zest to the annual line-up, the exceptional pottery of Santa Clara artist, Jody Naranjo and the Cochiti and Santo Domingo duo Lisa Holt and Harlan Reano join the mix. Visit the gallery’s website for a complete listing of shows and do not miss the magnetic, action packed experience of live glass blowing demonstrations with Preston Singletary and bronze patina demonstrations with Bronzesmith foundry.
