These wall pieces reflect my interest in the human body and its internal functions and processing. The form is based on the milagro form which is used in many cultures as a symbol of answered prayers. In many latin countries people take small body parts made of wood or metal to a church or sacred place and leave them for a particular saint as thanks for an answered prayer. The back of the torso in this case is also a visual pun, "getting something of ones back". Each back form serves has an image of a certain body part (a heart) and a carving of its function (sense). The other symbolism refers to the possible use for the function (binding two together). Others in this series are Lungs/Breathe, Brain/Imagine, Eye/Witness and Ear/Listen. These may be purchased together or separately.
